“The Odd Couple” marked by first time designing a comedy in roughly three years! After spending the last couple of years primarily working on serious/darker dramas or low-content musicals, working on a play like this felt like a homecoming. I loved bouncing back and forth between the diegetic and world-based moments to the whimsical and “magical” transitions that Rebecca Tucker choreographed and let myself and lighting play alongside. The show also takes place in the summer of 1964 (right around the release of “A Hard Days Night”) and as a die hard George Harrison/Beatles fan, I had a blast bringing the golden age of classic rock into this show.
